How Long Will the Warm Weather in North Georgia Last?

So far this year, we have been treated to weather that is more typical of March than early January. How long will the pleasant weather last?

The seven day forecast says that temperatures are unlikely to go below freezing next week, and the highs will be in the sixties. There is a relatively small chance of rain midweek.

If you look at the longer-range forecast, the National Weather Service is predicting above average temperatures and below average precipitation for the period between January 7th and January 11th. For the period between the 9th and the 15th, they continue to predict above average temperatures, however they expect above-average precipitation. They predict the chances of the temperature dropping below freezing during the period at 40%.

So, it looks like we’re going to have two weeks of warm weather, and with perhaps some significant rain at the end of the second week.

Longer term, they are still predicting below-average temperatures and normal precipitation for the January through March period.

As always with the weather, we’ll have to wait to see exactly what happens. In the meantime, enjoy the pleasant weather while it lasts.
