Tropical Storm Franklin is July’s Fourth Named Storm
Thursday, July 21st, 2005The National Hurricane Center has recognized Tropical Storm Franklin as of this evening. Even though it has wind speeds high enough to merit watching, the storm, currently located over Bermuda, doesn’t appear to be too organized.
The storm is expected to move northwest to an area about 250 miles east of Daytona Beach Florida, where it will meander in a circle over the Atlantic. Part of what Franklin does is dependent on the effects of other fronts expected to pass over the Atlantic in the next few days. If it moves a bit further northwest than its expected track, it could affect the Georgia coast, although its impact on the Atlanta area should be minimal.
